Isle of Wight, 1-2 July 2017
I had the opportunity to spend a weekend on the island with a very dear friend, who like me fancied a look around some where that they had not been to in many years.
The weather was fabulous.
After over-nighting in Southampton, we took an early-ish ferry to East Cowes and from there we went around the north side towards Ryde and on to Culver Down (source of a new war-story for me) and down to Sandown.
We met up with Jenny's sister and brother and spouses for dinner in Sandown on Saturday evening.
On Sunday, we went west, taking in Ventnor and the south western coast to Alum Bay and The Needles and on to Yarmouth.
This was a tester for a future full blown holiday and was brilliant.
These photos are a taster.
