Vaccines <<scroll down for Photos>>
I am not actually 100% sure where or when I first heard the Vaccines.
I seem to recall hearing "We're Happening" on Absolute Radio one morning in the office, and then checking out You Tube and upon finding "Post Break-Up Sex" I was hooked.
"What Do You Expect From The Vaccines?" is the question posed by the title of their first album. The answer is briefly "Superb Pop Songs".
"If You Wanna", "Norgaard" and "Blow It Up" are storming tracks, whereas "All In White" and "Wetsuit" are slower and possibly more thoughtful.
All of the songs come across really well at a gigs, partly due to front man Justin Haywood-Young's enthusiasm and partly because the standard of musicianship of the band.
They are not afraid of hard work - in 2011 they played the Other Stage at Glastonbury on Friday, flew to Stockholm for a gig on Saturday and returned to Glastonbury to play another set on Sunday.
Apart from Glastonbury, I have seen them at the Brixton Academy (twice) and also as part of the Mumford's Gentlemen of the Road.
