The Muppets Take The O2, 14 July 2018
I saw the announcement and couldn't resist seeing the Muppets at a live, full length show on both days of the weekend. Never having seen the inside of the O2, I thought "Why not?".
I loved them when I was a kid and was pretty excited at the prospect.
Although Jenny recognised a lot of the characters, The Muppets was not really "her thing", but she put on a brave face.
It was busy (there were only about 80 unsold tickets out of the 20,000 offered for the Saturday matinee performance) and it was a very hot day.
The Muppets TV show was a half hour, essentially of comedy, song , dance and variety.
This was to be an hour and a half with guest appearances from minor actors and celebrities (Actors Peter Davison -"Doctor Who" and "All Creatures Great and Small", Anthony Head - Buffy The Vampire Slayer and coffee adverts, Adam Hills (comedian) and a singalong with the defunct and reformed pop group, Steps.
For me, at least the show was a triumph. Brilliantly executed by the many puppeteers. A great and memorable performance.
My personal favourite Muppet, Animal thrashed away on drums in the band, while Kermit, Fozzie, Miss Piggy, Gonzo, Statler and Waldorf, Rowlf, Scooter and the Swedish Chef all did their own thing.
Sight lines were not great for shots of Animal, but I have put 3 short very videos into this Google Photos album <click here> - two show Animal, and the third Rowlf on piano with his attendants.
I loved the show.
