Tilgate Park, 13 October 2018
Tilgate has been on "my list" for a while as I have been for a good old nose around for at least 25 years, maybe longer (apart from brief summer evening strolls and a couple of meals at the Smith & Western restaurant), in fact the last time that I remembered spending any time there was in the aftermath of the Great Storm of 1987.
Saturday was going to be the better day of a mixed weekend, and the opportunity came about.
Tilgate is a beautiful park in Crawley, with the added bonus of a mini-zoo which we made the most of. I was quite impressed with the selection of small animal stock which is pretty varied.
The trees are on the turn for Autumn and looked very good.
I had done a gut-busting Full English for breakfast, so a latte from the cafe got Jenny and I through lunch time. Sarah, Matt, Molly and Layla tucked into some lunch snacks which Sarah had packed.
I very nice few hours strolling in good company
