Polesden Lacey, 30 June 2019
Having seen the name on road signs for years, Jenny and I popped across to junction 9 of the M25 and on to Great Bookham and Polesden Lacey.
The Edwardian house was owned by socialite Maggie Greville, who entertained the great and good in the first half of the 20th century. The future King George VI and Queen Mother spent some of their honeymoon there.
June is the Rose Festival, and although the recent heat had taken it's toll the displays were beautiful.
a lovely few hours in the sun.
