Well, I like Coldplay.
I have heard that they are depressing, whiny and miserable.
But, in truth I just don't see that.
I like the sound, I like the vibe and so, I like them.
I had reason a couple of years ago to go through and play the albums in chronological order one after the other - there is progression from album to album and it is a magnificent body of work.
"Clocks", "In My Place", "Glass Of Water" and "The Scientist" are special.
I was lucky enough to see them on the last date of their Viva La Vida tour at Wembley in 2009 where they were brilliant. Tears during "Fix You", "Yellow" and "Viva La Vida".
"Lost +", featuring the phenomenon that is Jay-Z, was mesmorising.
Will Champion, the drummer deserves special mention - he just works so hard. Just listen to him on "Viva La Vida"
Glastonbury in 2011, again an unforgettable performance.
I was unnerved a little when "Every Tear Is A Waterfall" was released, but after a couple of listenings, the change of sound just made sense.
Seeing them at the Emirates Stadium during the Golden Jubilee celebratory weekend in June 2012 just confirmed to me that this a rock band at the peak of their powers and at the very top of their game.
Among my favourite ever bands - but why do I always get tearful during "Fix You" and get goosebumps during "Viva La Vida"?
Number of gigs attended: 3 plus Live8
