Buckingham Palace, 4 August 2018
The State Rooms at Buckingham Palace are opened for public view during August and September.
We went up to London on a very warm Saturday.
50,000 "official" visitors go through the Palace each year and it is one of the few still to be used as a "working" palace for admin and official business by a monarchy.
As you would expect, security is airport tight but is very efficient.
The rooms are exceptional and contents pristine and genuinely glorious.
Although no photography is allowed inside the building, visitors are allowed to go snap happy at the end of the tour in the gardens.
As we had our day tickets stamped, we could well go back for a second helping before the end of September !
These images are of what we could capture at the Palace, and the rest of the day in town.
These photos are from my trusty Canon Powershot SX60HS compact.
