RHS Wisley - Butterflies in the Glasshouse, 18 Feb 2018
In the first couple of months of the year, Wisley plays host to some butterflies in their glasshouse which leads to a very crowded gardens and glass house. This time we got there in a timely manner, as the calendar over the next few weeks is busy.
I went with Jenny and her daughter, Layla.
Bitter experience recently at Whipsnade put me wise to the fact that the heat and humidity would cause the lens on my camera to fog, so I kept the camera very warm in my jacket and jumper. It didn't stop it happening, but the problem cleared in a few minutes.
The gardens are coming to life and the crocuses and irises are lovely. and the daffodils will be glorious in a few weeks which Spring kicks in.
We also took a photo opportunity with Henry Moore's "King and Queen" statue which is due to move on after about 5 years at Wisley.
It was a beautiful Sunday stroll.
Here are a few photos from my Canon Powershot SX240HS, but in the main from my trusty Canon Powershot SX60HS compact and some are, at the risk of sounding less than modest, pretty damned good.
Note regarding the pictures:
These are my photos and tweaked photos.
