Staffordshire weekend, 1-2 December 2018
Jenny and I had a "less busy" weekend in the Festive Build Up Schedule, so we decided to have a couple of days/nights in Staffordshire where we could relax a little and also finish a bit more of the Christmas Shopping.
I like to visit the family graves and pay respects as often as I can, and it is that time of year, so it developed as a plan.
We crossed a few things off of the list - did some shopping and popped some flowers to Alton Cemetery on Saturday which left Sunday free to potter and get back down South at a reasonable time.
Jenny and I opted to visit somewhere that I hadn't been in probably 50 years - Trentham Gardens. Although the weather was a bit overcast and drizzling, the walk around the lake was really beautiful.
There a many displays of interest - carvings and sculptures. Otters, Frogs and other wildlife are scattered around the gardens. Most beguiling however are wire sculptures of Pixies of which there are many...
We would like to go back on a warmer, sunnier day.
These photos are from my trusty Canon Powershot SX240HS compact with just one from Jenny's iPhone 8.
