New Forest, 7-8 August 2021
With Layla away for the weekend with her Dad, pandemic restrictions lifting and good deals available at hotel chains, the opportunity came up for Jen and I to pop away for a cheeky break to celebrate our first wedding anniversary.
The wildlife kept us entertained - with ponies, horses and donkeys roaming free and causing temporary traffic mayhem.
Deer also made a showing.
Hurst Castle was a little disappointing, as little of the interior was open due to restoration works and COVID restrictions. The walk to the fortifications was enjoyable but damp due to a sudden downpour. The trip back on the open ferry was equally wet due to rain setting in.
We even managed a nice dinner at a restaurant !!
A lovely break.
