London - Christmas and Lights , 20-21 December 2021
Christmas break, reasonable rates at hotels and need of a change from the current "normal".
Personally, I have not been up to town to see "The Lights" for years, so jumped at the opportunity. The Strand, Covent Garden, Trafalgar Square, Piccadilly, Regents Street and Oxford Street met expectations. A couple of people had mentioned Carnaby Street, which was terrific.
I was disappointed by the window displays in the stores, and we didn't see any real imagination from them.
Covent Garden tried hard, and the Lego Festive Exhibit was cool.
What did un-nerve us was just how busy the West End was - literally heaving, pandemic or not.
