Staffordshire and Derbyshire, 26 - 27 August
With Layla staying with her Dad, Jenny and I took the opportunity for a quiet couple of days in Staffordshire.
Family were either working or away, so we were able to potter nicely, wherever our fancy took us.
A call at Alton Cemetery to pay respects, a little shopping in Stoke and a nice drive up over to the Derbyshire Dales and Bakewell, with it's offer of tarts.
Unfortunately, the Gladstone Pottery Museum was closed "for Special Projects", we did not have enough time to do the Wedgewood site tour, so we went to see the Spode works site in Stoke in the Saturday morning before coming home.
