New Forest, 13-15 January 2023
A post Christmas and New Year treat to start an adventurous year.
The New Forest park is beautiful, and it is great to see the ponies living and grazing on the commons.
What was not so good was the sheer amount of rain and flooded ground that had occurred following the aftermath of the U.S. weather bomb system of the past few weeks.
We made the most of it and had a very interesting few days.
The driving needed to be cautious as rivers and fords across roads were in very full flow and surface water and puddles made driving tricky. We were safe enough I feel, but one particular ford / torrent must have been a good 6 inches up the car doors.
Sunday was pleasantly dry for our stroll around Beaulieu.
The stay was very enjoyable and we will hopefully get back there in the sunnier and drier weather.
