Canon HQ, Woodhatch in the snow
Friday 2 March 2018
The Meteorological Office had threatened us with blanket snows all week, which to be honest had so far disappointed (Redhill and Reigate had actually got off pretty lightly with only one actual "I'd better not drive" day).
I experienced temperatures down to -5 Centigrade, but heard tales of -11 in other places in Surrey.
As a precaution, I relocated temporarily to Jenny's local address for the week, but popped back to Merstham to check on Blakka on three of the four days without any issues.
There was supposed to be rain and a bit of a thaw over the weekend.
Friday came in with a whimper, but at about 1 o'clock the skies darkened, and the snow hit - the announcement went out that if staff needed to leave, they should and a Mass Exodus followed.
There was not masses of snow, but there was enough to make a stroll around the Canon UK office grounds worthwhile bearing in mind that it would in the main be gone by the end of the weekend.
I think that it was worth the effort.
These photos are from my trusty Canon Powershot SX240HS compact from various viewpoints around the office grounds.
